What is an Inverter Generator
The information below was gather from google searches. I’m not an electrical engineer, but my understanding is an inverter generator provides “cleaner” power. And you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to recognize the higher fuel efficiency and quieter operation it delivers over a conventional generator.
The latest inverter technology has been stated as providing the following benefits:
- High Quality Power Output
- Lighter and Smaller Size
- Higher Fuel Efficiency
- Quiet Operation
- Parallel Capability
I got the above bullet points from Honda’s website, and they are well known for high quality inverter generators. In fact, the LC3500i that the Rialta Renegade is based on is a direct competitor to the Honda EU3000is inverter generator. However, as you might expect, the Honda is much more expensive. An while it may also be better built, the LC3500i has also proven to be very well built and reliable.

By the way, I would have used the Honda EU3000is for my conversion but unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) it was too big. Not that it’s more powerful than the LC3500i, it’s just designed differently. The LC3500i actually has a higher output rating (3500 vs. 3000).
